Update on stuff

It would appear that starting work has left me with less free time than I suspected. I blame a delicious blend of a 2.5 hour commute and, of course, communism. Mmmm, commutism…

At any rate, I’ve been at Gennum for 2.5 monthsish now, and I think I’m settling in rather well. I feel like an idiot sometimes, but I suppose that’s to be expected. I’m gradually taking over responsibilities for when the Old Model (aka ) leaves soon.

In other news, I’ve been hanging out a fair bit with friends who are around and not so much with the ones who aren’t, spending way too much money on eBay (which will result in some projects I’ll be documenting later), and watching the McMaster IEEE go basically nowhere now that I’ve left. A decidedly interesting summer thus far, and there’s another, what, 13 months of it to go? :)

Ancient Druids

There are those (mostly Jordan) who contend that many centuries ago, Ancient Druids constructed structures of foam in our office (or, more specifically, Brian’s cube). Thanks largely to advanced construction techniques and needing to escape monotony for a spell, they were able to construct nearly two dozen of these foam structures – in what experts (read: Jordan) estimate was only about 5 minutes – to form the great wonder that is Foamhenge.

Hello, Mr. Blog!

Let’s see if we can’t get this ready to go and such…
