A brilliant prank, I must say

Today, Brian Bentham – a friend of mine from Mac, and my predecessor at Gennum as intern to Transport Apps – started full-time at Gennum. To celebrate this, on Friday we conspired to set a welcoming “gift” for him. Note that only two of those responsible will readily admit to having any part in this.

And so his cubicle was filled with some blocked-off air spaces and balloons. These blocked-off air spaces were to reduce the number of surprisingly expensive balloons employed in this endeavour.

A pair of scissors were, of course, forgotten behind the cellophane-and-cardboard barrier, and deemed too unimportant to retrieve. Happy first bit of office supplies, Brian.

By the time we were done, there were a great many balloons in place, as well as a couple of product managers getting somewhat mentally altered from oxygen deprivation (it should be noted that the compressed air that drives the solder paste pump was employed for some inflation, by an Unnamed Source)

The final product, with two conspirators:

And so we left this until Tuesday (remember, Victoria Day weekend), and went on our way.

For the weekend, I lived in fear that a note would be left on my desk over the weekend, informing me that my services would no longer be required, and would I kindly leave now before I was made to do so. Come Tuesday morning, however, I found no such note. Jordan and I both arrived early Monday morning, intent on seeing the show. Brian (left) was suitably impressed, and Rakesh (center) didn’t kill me.

Brian and I then began the cleanup process, which naturally ended up in MASSIVE BALLOON CARNAGE

And so ended a moderately great prank. More later on how the universe got its revenge on me over the weekend.
